The Bahamas is well-known for its beautiful beaches, and you’ll find that Andros is no exception. Romantic travelers also prefer the jewel of Andros Island. You can relax lazily on the wonderful beaches, or find tourist spots made for you, elsewhere on the island.

Lighthouse Beach is at North Andros, in an area known as Fresh Creek. This area offers snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. There are quiet areas for romantic interludes, as well. Small Hope Bay Beach is only ten minutes from the middle of town, and you’ll love lying around in their coconut tree hammocks. This is an excellent way to relax, or to doze lazily in the afternoon sun.

Tiamo Beach is an area where many Hollywood movies have been filmed, and this area is generally a bit more posh than some of the other beaches. It’s a bit busier than other areas, too, so if you don’t want to just lay around, there are lots of activities here.

Another popular beach area is The Love Hill. It’s the longest beach on this island, and it has white sand and clear, beautiful water. You cannot even see buildings in the view from this beach, so it’s more secluded, for quiet relaxation. This is also part of the island that is greener, and is sometimes called the garden of Andros.

Summer Set Beach is a wonderful place to watch the sun set, after a long day at the beach. There are millions of shells along this beach, and they shine just like stars. The shoreline is in the shape of a crescent, so you can see the whole area when you walk. Enjoy the delicious foods and local rum, and the local festivals that every area in the Bahamas seems to have.
